Attend PanSIG

(This page is a general overview of PanSIG. For information specific to the upcoming conference, please see the pages in the menu and/or linked below.)

PanSIG is an annual conference sponsored and organized by many of the Special Interest Groups (SIGs) of the Japan Association for Language Teaching (JALT). You do not have to be a JALT member to attend, but JALT members pay less in registration fees than non-members.

The conference timeline varies from year to year, but, generally speaking, the conference is held in May. The PanSIG conference location also varies year to year, held at universities across Japan. You can find a list of our current and past PanSIG dates and locations in our PanSIG Archive. The archive also includes links to the schedules, handbooks and proceedings of these conferences.

For those interested in giving a presentation, workshop, or poster presentation, the call for proposals is usually announced in November or December, and the deadline is usually in mid-January. All proposals are vetted by blind review, and the results are made available by mid-March. Presenters are expected to register for the conference soon thereafter, though registration payment is usually due at the beginning of April.

For those wishing to attend, the earlybird payment is usually due by the beginning of April, so to enjoy the earlybird discount, be sure to send your payment in early. If you found out about the conference late, you can of course pay the fees at the door when you arrive.
