2025 Theme: Agency and Autonomy in Language Education

Autonomy includes the ability to make informed and personally relevant choices. Agency represents putting these choices into action. Learners and educators should be able to confidently select the best tools and practices and then take action to achieve their goals. PanSIG2025 will allow each SIG to showcase their approaches towards maximizing autonomy and agency for both teachers and students. Participants will explore these concepts and find ways to realize them in their own praxis.

To help support the theme and goals of this year's conference, we have…

  1. PanSIG FIRST: SALC Exhibition
PanSIG has invited Self Access Learning Centers from all around Japan to come and showcase their successes and secrets in a brand new JALT event format!
  2. Friday night workshops
Attend a workshop exploring the conference theme of Agency and Autonomy and get ready for the weekend!
  3. Social events
We are planning several social events, such as a group trip to a Chiba baseball game and a social dinner on Saturday night, so mark your calendars now!
