Can everyone use eduroam?

As it says in the Getting started section of eduroam.org, the first step after downloading the eduroam installer is to choose your institution from the list so that you can log on. So if your university is not on the list, you will not have access. If your university is on the list, you can access the network worldwide.

Note: You may need to contact your university's IT department for your log-in credentials. And you may need to be on your campus when you sign in for the first time.

This seems like a hassle!

Actually, you'll love eduroam because it allows you to connect to wifi whenever you're near a university that uses it. (Nearly all universities in Europe use it, and hundreds across Asia do.)
